The Department of Homeland Security is soliciting technologies for a breadth of solutions for preventing and repairing hostile cyber security attacks that include DDoS, worms, and botnets and anticipates receiving a significant number of submissions from small, innovative security technology companies. The DHS will select approximately 15 high-quality presentations for the Emerging Security Technology Forum on April 13-14 at SRI International in Arlington , Virginia . Senior and mid-level government technologists and managers with an interest in DDoS and worm mitigation will benefit from an information-packed event that brings together some of the most compelling solutions being developed in industry today.
Each selected vendor will give a 20-minute presentation to the general audience, followed by an in-depth demonstration in private break-out session rooms for subsets of the audience. The exchange of proprietary information about the vendor's technology and each government agency's need will be encouraged. Vendors will be trained by SRI and the DHS in advance of the event in order to make the presentations as compelling and relevant as possible. Many of the presenting vendors will have no prior experience in pitching to or working with the U.S. Government.
Government attendees will be asked to contribute $10 in cash at the door each day to help cover the cost of food and beverages. Receipts will be provided. Attendance is limited to 70 government representatives, and interest is expected to exceed capacity. Please register as soon as possible to guarantee a space. Complete details and the final presentation schedule will be emailed to registered attendees prior to the event.
